June 8-11, 2026: Paper Birch Farm Horse and Pony Summer Camp
Come play with our horses and ponies! Lido, Honey Bee, Noodles, and Pumpkin look forward to welcoming you back —or meeting you for the first time.
Campers at Paper Birch Farm are actively involved in the care and training of the four resident horses at our small farm on the lower Hillside. Activities focus on horse behavior, positive reinforcement training, practicing safe and clear communication with horses, and having fun with these beautiful creatures.
Horse training and horse care skills: Experienced campers will have the opportunity to engage in liberty work and teach tricks to the horses, while those new to horses will work on haltering, leading, and grooming. All campers will practice the fine art of finding a horse’s favorite itchy spot and we will also practice and build our Equine First Aid skills. *Returning and New Campers: If there is something you’re interested in that has not been mentioned here, please encourage your adults to let us know! There’s a spot on the registration form for your suggestions and requests.
Riding: Each camper will have one private riding lesson with 1:1 instruction during the 4 day camp session. *Adults: If you are interested in additional riding lessons for your camper, please let us know on the registration form and we will be in touch to offer options.
Ages: For campers ages 8-12.
If your camper is outside this age range but you feel this camp will still be a good fit for them, please be in touch via email paperbirchfarm@gmail.com or use our contact form.
Equipment: No special equipment required. Students are asked to bring closed toe shoes/boots as well as long pants. We have loaner riding helmets in several sizes.
Experience range: No horse experience required. However, experienced horse lovers and riders are also welcome.
Cost and Registration: $400/session (4 days, 10 am-3 pm with 3-5 pm aftercare available per request)
A more detailed registration form will be emailed to you once after initial registration.
Full and partial scholarships are available on a limited basis should cost be prohibitive.
Please email paperbirchfarm@gmail.com or use our contact form to let us know if you are interested.
Cancellation/Reimbursements: Registration can be canceled for a full refund up to six weeks in advance of the camp start date or a 50% refund up to three weeks in advance of camp start date.
Of course, if you happen to know further in advance that you need to cancel, please try to let us know.
